Beautiful, hard to find, French Sarreguemines figural animal pitcher. The muted earth tones of the big rams head makes the turquoise interior even more vibrant! Measures approx. 6.75" tall and approx. 7" from front to back (not including handle). T is very nice detail ; the wooly fur, big brown eyes, as well as the way the rams ears stick out between his curled horns. Condition is excellent. T is one faint, tight line, approx. 1" long, located on the interior, just in front of the handle. (see photo closeup 3). No other lines, chips, cracks or repairs. T is some light glaze crazing. Fully marked on the base: impressed numbers and letters as well as an impressed Sarreguemines. Also an inkstamped crown and shield with Made in Germany. Those who appreciate history will remember that after the Franco Prussian War in 1870, parts of France became German territory. The Sarreguemines factory was located in such an area. Buyer to pay the actual shipping/insurance cost. No extra fees. Payment in the form of check or money order for U.S. buyers. Checks to clear before shipping.
