EX. RARE WATERFORD 'KATHLEEN' WINE GLASSES, SET OF FOUR, C. 1968
You are bidding on a hard-to-find set of four crystal wine glasses in the desirable 'Kathleen' pattern, handblown and cut by the prestigious Waterford firm of Ireland, c. 1968. First introduced in 1968 and now discontinued, 'Kathleen' is a clean, elegant crystal design, featuring six large 'olive' cuts as the 'principle' decorative element on each stem. 'Kathleen' was designed to coordinate with the sleek, 'Modernist' interiors and table settings fo the era, yet retains the 18th century-inspired form and elegance that is the 'hallmark' of all Waterford fine crystal. The pattern, now discontinued and available only by special order, is simple, elegant, and refined, and coordinates with virtually any dinner service or style of entertaining--from 'casual' to 'formal' occasions--making this one of Waterford's most 'adaptable' and versatile patterns that will never look 'dated', go 'out-of-style'. These wine glasses are one difficult-to-find in this desirable pattern, and the special-order price from Waterford per individual wine glass is $108.00 on sale. The wine glasses are in excellent, vintage condition, and probably date to within the first five years of production for this pattern. They measure 4.75" tall x 2.5" wide at the rim and are individually signed with the acid-etched 'Waterford' mark. They are in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, deep scratches, gouges, or repaired rims. They have been well-cared-for, and appear to have been infrequently-used, and are in superb, vintage condition. In the years I have been collecting this pattern, sets of water goblets and wine glasses in excellent condition have appeared very-infrequently. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your collection, or 'fill out' your existing collection of 'Kathleen'.
