SET (6) Wilton Charger Plates/Dishes Offered for you consideration today, is an absolutely stunning set of (6) Wilton RWP 11" charger plates/dishes! This set was introduced to you as "rare" because I have rarely seen this pattern anyw However, the simple elegance of these dishes should make them a perfect complement to any pattern that you already have in your "pewter" collection. As displayed in one of my pictures, these plates work especially well with a 9 inch Queen Anne or Country French patterned plate sitting within it. And for the holidays, you might want to make a bold statement by using these as charger plates and inserting solid color red, green, or white dishes into them. But if you want simple sophistication, just use them as they are because they are certainly elegant enough! Elegant does not mean fragile, however, because each one of these sturdy plates weighs~1lb 7 oz.! VERY IMPRESSIVE! The set is most definitely used; and you will see that wear in the pictures. (Digital photos actually exaggerate scratch marks and dings because of the flash); but the dishes are in a very nice clean condition. Please keep in mind that: Metal ware is made from a molding process; so, you will see occasional "non-use"flaws and imperfect symmetry in many items that are made this way. For those of us who appreciate the old fashioned value of "hands on" craftsmanship , these "flaws" simply add to the charm of an atmosp we are attempting to create when we use these products. T is a matte finish on the back and a shiny finish on the front. However, I believe that Wilton did something very special with these dishes. It became obvious to me (as I was cleaning them one day) that the company deliberately added tiny pinpoint indentations on the edges of the plates w a nice warm patina could settle in and soften the shiny appearance. I tried to show an example of this in one of my pictures; but it doesn't do it justice. However, if you enlarge each of the photos, you should be able to discern these purposefully inserted flaws and (without a doubt!) when you finally hold them in your hands , you should also find that this detail adds a charmingly warm character to each of the dishes. I have done all that I could to describe and demonstrate (in photographs) what you will be bidding on. What you see is what you will receive if you win. Please look closely at the photos and feel free to ask any questions you have before you bid. P.S. The plates are a silver color ,not amber (as the photos imply). It is my camera / lighting that causes that effect. In photos #2,#9, and #10 you can observe the t ruer colors of the plates.
