Item Description: âe(tm)s a great chance for you to own a Rare Seth Thomas "Empire No. 00" Crystal Regulator, aka brass and glass . Offered with a Polished Gold Finish, Eight Day, 4âe enamel dial, Height 12 1⁄4âe. Base 7 3⁄4âe and folks; the original list price in 1909 was an astounding $38.00! Wow!!! This wonderful piece is directly from an estate and awaiting restoration. Once you clean the dial you should find a perfect example with Black Arabic numerals accented by Red 15-minute increments and it proudly displays the Seth Thomas signature and âeoeSâe and âeoeFâe indicators at the top and just look at the fabulous engine turned bezel. The original Seth Thomas spade hands are perfect. I used one of my universal keys and it has been ticking to beat the band and striking perfectly but a good cleaning is in order to be totally reliable. The beveled glasses are perfect with the only exception being a tiny bubble in the glass near one side glass, bottom edge. Fine quality Seth Thomas âeoe48Sâe movement. Restorations will include a good clean, polish, replace the nuts on the bottom of pendulum, and replace missing key. Though it doesnâe(tm)t need replacement it needs to be mentioned, t is a cracked vial for the imitation mercurial pendulum. This is a fantastic clock awaiting restoration. ADDED: Hi Chadwick, it's been running about 4 hours and it's keeping pretty accurate time (and striking properly) though fine adjustments will be needed for perfection. Another note, you can easily remedy the glass vial by purchasing clear plastic tubing at Lowes or Home Depot and cutting to the proper length. Simply insert the existing imitation mercury inside the clear tube and it looks perfect and you can buy it for less than $1.
