I call this clock a "rarity" because it is the only one I have seen in the past ten years. In 1936 Seth Thomas made an electric clock with Westminster chimes which was called the Falsbury. He then took the same case and put his tried and true #124 Westminster movement in it and called it the Chime #57. Interestingly, the electric Falsbury boasts only minimal value today, however, this clock, the Chime #57 books for near $500.00 . In 1936 the electric Falsbury sold for $32.50 while the Chime #57 sold for $30.00 . Go figure!!! The case of the Chime #57 is solid cabinet grade WALNUT. The case is as close to perfect as 71 years of age will allow - t are no scratches, dings, etc.. - it is tight throughout and really EXCEPTIONAL. The silver plated dial is 4.5 inches square and is in excellent condition. It is vividly accented by the 5.5 inch square gold plated sash. The glass is the original (no chips or scratches) as are the hands and the pendulum. The hinges on the sash are tight and do not sag. The sash snaps shut nicely and is very solid. T is a fast/slow adjustment just above the 12 on the dial - the small end of the winding key, provided read more
