Just about the very rarest Shelley chintz pattern is that of "Briar Rose Chintz", originally named "Lowestoft Chintz", and we have a perfect and utterly pristine example to offer now in the form of a tea trio. It comprises tea size Regent shape cup, saucer and seven inch teaplate manufactured by Shelley, England, in the late 1930's. The decoration comprises delicately colored old fashioned pink roses with a sprinkling of green leaves and tiny mauve flowers, with pale green rim edging and cup handle.All three pieces carry the full factory scripted Shelley Fine Bone China backstamp plus pattern number 2320 on the base of the cup (see picture), being in truly excellent condition with all the patterning and edging fully intact and ringing beautifully, demonstrating no hidden hairlines; absolutely no cracks, chips, scratching, fading or discoloration, and no restoration. T is no reserve and we have an extremely reasonable start figure for such an out and out rarity.
