The first signature of every copy of this book that I've seen has been cut out, and a new signature has been pasted onto the stub. Did Book of Prayer for Personal Use: A Short Breviary replace A Short Breviary as the title, and did St. John's Abbey Press replace the Liturgical Press imprint on the title page? It would certainly be fascinating to see a copy of the original state of this book. The distribution of the book was banned by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the book's imprimatur was withdrawn by the bishop of St. Cloud, Minnesota, because the Vatican's Congregation on Divine Worship had ruled that only official translations of liturgical texts were permitted.
