You are bidding on a RARE SIEGLEY TOOL COMPANY STS No 5 14" Wood Plane. The plane was obtained from an estate sale, w it was well cared for, age is unknown. The plane is all original and has been Completely Dismantled, and all parts cleaned. The plane is stamped on the blade STS Siegley and embossed on the front metal base No 5 . I believe the blade was manufactured by the Siegley Tool Company, Jacob Siegley . The blade depth brass adjuster knob is approx. 1" diameter. The blade is crisp and sharp, appears to have been sharpened very little. The plane is 14" long, has a 2 3/8" wide base, and is approx. 5 1/4" high, the blade is 2" wide and weighs approx. 4 1/4 lbs. The Plane is in good condition, wood is solid but has a few dings & scratches some finish rubs & chips - the rear handle was cracked into (see photo circled) - was repaired by drilling a hole into both parts on the inside and glued and pinned for support seems tight - still can see ctrack line , japanning is about 95% intact-has a few chipped spots, as with the vintage of the plane t are a few dings, and a few surface scratches, with light surface rust, some discoloration, all noted from the photos. The Plane would be a great enhancement to any STANLEY collection or use as a working tool . The plane is SOLD AS IS with NO RESERVE . e-mail questions before bidding Check out my other items !
