**RARE** SOLID C1880 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 12K ROSE GOLD CUFF BANGLE-20gm I am so excited to offer this a Exquisite Antique Victorian 12k Rose Gold Cuff Bangle..........with ORNATE and highly detailed carvings... and it isSOLID NOT HOLLOW. It is extremely rare to find this design in a quality period piece such as this. ..and this is ONE OF THE BEST cuff bangles i have had for years and is so incredibly SHINY ! THIS IS A TRUE ANTIQUE ROSE GOLD COLOR..and will fit a LARGER wrist up to 7 5/8" ..or for the small wrist can be used as a slave bangle This is a truly rare item, due to its SIZE ,width and High Victorian design and is solid.. The detail in the carvings is rarely found anymore so dont miss this one! VICTORIAN FLOWER MEANING In Victorian Times the language of flowers was as important as that of being " well dressed" and flowers held special meanings APPLE BLOSSOM -My preference is YOU So this bangle would have been a gift to a loved one...and must have a romantic history HISTORY This truly a nostalgic piece from a bygone era. These are becoming extremely rare, and they command in the upper hundreds to thousands on antique websites. It is Circa 1880.. but may be earlier .. as this HIGH VICTORIAN design was used in the 1850's also It is not stamped for gold content but the outer surface tests positive for 12 karat gold and it is Rose Gold front also known as Gold SHELL.. and the inside is rolled gold.. very common for these times . Antique rose gold shell is a solid outer layer of 12 karat gold on a thin underlying metal core , and in this case the core is probably silver or bronze, and wears just like solid karat gold of today. .A VERY RARE HEIRLOOM BANGLE..and So Ornate ...the entire front surface has the most beautiful carvings sweeping LARGE SCROLLS and APPLE BLOSSOMS either side of a central WHORL... and this catches the light with every turn !.. a UNIQUE one of a kind piece.. and so detailed... . This style of bangle is highly prized amongst collectors as they are becoming very scarce. High quality examples like this were often 12k gold shell or rolled gold.. and are very collectable and usually stand out from the others. DESCRIPTION & SIZING . . It is so RARE to find such a piece like this.....this is one of the prettiest bangles to wear ...the design and embellishments are STUNNING ... . A Very old and beautiful heirloom indeed, and one you can pass down to future generations. . It is a beautiful antique TRUE ROSE GOLD color, quite rare for Victorian times as the rose gold tended to be that buttery hue with a hint of rose gold... and it is excellent as you would expect with quality antique jewelry. The feel of this bangle is fabulous, it has that ultra smooth look and feel when putting it on, that usually is associated with solid karat gold.. The front of the bangle is rounded...or domed.. and looks fantastic on the arm. The inside measures 7 3/4", quite rare for Victorian times and was probably used as a SLAVE bangle. It is ONE AND ONE EIGHTH INCHES in width at the front tapering slowly down to 1/2" at the back and is SOLID NOT HOLLOW .... It has no clasps to worry about and simply slips over the wrist. This is a substantial piece and weighs approx 20 grams, which further adds to its appeal ! This heirloom piece has some letters engraved in Olde Worlde Script on the front cartouche.. very tiny letters that are faint..but appear to say Creole ? ..but honestly it looks like part of the detailed pattern.. .....The only fault I can find are a few tiny dimples on the front and back , consistent with age.. but due to the heavy patterning blends right in and is not noticeable when being worn.. and is mentioned for accuracy.. It has been resized at some time, not visible from the outside but you can see the solid gold weld on the inside.. but for its VAST age, this is truly in wonderful condition ! The antique rose gold color isnt showing up well in these pictures., it looks brassy but this is so unique and shiny ... please check my feedback so you may bid with confidence..many of my ...
