This Early handwrought Taxco silver and copper bracelet was designed by William Spratling of Taxco, Mexico circa 1935-45. William Spratling is well known as the father of the Mexican Silver movement in Taxco, Mexico. This design is called the "pillow bracelet" and is seldom seen with both 980 silver and copper. It has eight "pillow" components and is fastened with a pin closure. The condition is excellent and shows age appropriate wear. The inner circumference measures approximately 7 1/2 inches. It is approximately 1 inch wide. The mark is from the first design period. I guarantee authenticity of all items I sell. I have set a very reasonable reserve. Please email with any questions. All sales are final. Please see my other auctions which include pieces by Antonio Pineda, Los Castillo and vintage Native American silver. I have included 2 more close ups of the mark in response to several email requests. This is a very early Spratling mark and the silver itself appears to be hand rolled as you would see in early Native American silver pieces. The mark is authentic and is stamped over the imperfections seen on the surface of the silver. Later examples of this particular bracelet do not have the imperfections seen in the silver and in my opinion are far less preferable and lack the character of an early piece.
