I have been a collector and occasional dealer in Hampshire Pottery for over twenty years, but I have never seen or owned this particular form before now. Measuring a full 14 inches tall, the vase measures 5 inches in diameter across the top and 4 1/2 inches in diameter across the bottom. The piece is marked on the base with the Hampshire Pottery name, the circled M (referring to the designer Cadmon Robertson's wife), and the mold number 94. The vase has a lovely rich matte green glaze and only a few minor imperfections.T are a few small and unobtrusive scatches to the glaze, a small circular mark on the glaze (probably from an early sticker affixed to the piece), and a 4 1/2 inch firing crack on the inside of the pottery which does not show on the outside. (The beginning of this firing crack is just barely visible at the lip of the vase.)This is clearly a rare and unusual piece of Hampshire Pottery, with lovely Arts & Crafts detail and a tall and imposing presence.
