Even after calling a couple people at the Uhl collecting site, the only thing I know is that when the Brown Print crocks appear, they are always the 2 gallon size [no one I have talked to has a time period or a reason for the Brown print - my brother says they probably ran out of blue that production day]. This one is from my sister-in-law's family who lived in Southeastern Indiana. Crock has the normal age crackling especially around the top, t are crows feet in 2 places but are not cracks into the inside and the outside crack shown outside the top lip does not go through to the inside. T is a small groove out of the top, does not appear to be a chip. T is 1 spot on back [approx. 1/8" X1/4"] without glaze. A rare piece of a well known name in Indiana pottery. I estimate that priority shipping to the west coast will range between $22 and $25. Shipment elsew in continental US will be less as well as UPS ground should be less. Paypal, check or money order.
