Offering for auction a Rare and Early Van Briggle Pottery Vase. Super Pre-Death Large Green Vase! Dated 1901. Nice Arts & Crafts look! The vase is design Number "29" not listed in design pages of the Collectors guide to Van Briggle pottery by Nelson and Newton! This is an extremely rare find! It is marked on the bottom "Van Briggle" and the Van Briggle AA logo. It has the Design number "29",the date "1901", and the Roman numeral "II" or "III". I have looked at the bottom of this vase for hours in every type of light with all kinds of vision aids possible, I believe and others I let look at it believe the date reads 1901. It is possible that it could be a 1902. I will get close up photos. Please look closely at this date. The difference of course is VB records show only 300 pieces were made in 1901 and 2000 pieces were made in 1902. The design number 29 was first made in 1901 so that is what it should be. The vase is approximately 7-3/4" tall by 5" wide at it's widest point. 2-3/8" across the mouth and 3-1/2" accross the bottom. The vase is in very good condition! No cracks! No chips! No repairs! One tiny factory glaze pop so small I can't even measure, maybe 1/32". Nice smooth glaze with the feel of quality! I cleaned the vase with acetone. Please see my photos! Very rare piece of Van Briggle Pottery! Make a great addition to your collection! Don't miss out! Please e-mail me with any questions. Low Reserve! Happy Bidding! Shipping & Insurance Information: I will ship via USPS either Parcel Post or Priority Mail, depending on cost and delivery. My goal is to give you the very best service at the lowest possible cost. Please e-mail me if you require Priority mail. Insurance is required on all packages. All items sold have a set shipping cost which includes insurance. Please understand the USPS does not have in transit tracking ability. Numbers are for insurance reasons and verify delivery only. I received an email from a knowledgeable VB collector that stated, " Your Van Briggle #29 is almost certainly 1902, not 1901. The factory did not start using metal design stamps until 1902." Thank You
