OFFERING FOR AUCTION MORE TIMELESS TREASURES ITEM: VILLEROY BOCH METTLACH PLATE SET VINTAGE RARE A rare vintage complete set of Villeroy & Boch Mettlach collector 7.5" black on white transfer plates. The plates are numbered SAAR1-6 and each plate features a historic scene with horses from 5 European countries and Africa. The plates are titled as follows: Angleterre, Turquie, Hongrie, Espagne, France, and Afrique. Each plate is marked with the black Villeroy & Boch Mettlach stamp and Made in Germany along with the SAAR plate #. These plates are from an estate sale and I am told they are at least 40-50 years of age. Unable to verify exact age, however, they are very hard to find. My research did not find any on the internet. My pics are showing flash glare-and really do not show the beautiful detail of each plate. In original box, appear never used, couple of rough areas on underside rim that look to be manufacturing flaws. Can only feel, cannot see.
