Up for auction is a rare find, an American Bisque Indian Mohawk cookie jar! The lady who asked me to sell this for her, said, she received it 51 years ago as a wedding present from a neighbor. The neighbor received it as a premium for purchasing Mohawk carpeting. I have taken pictures of every flaw I could find. is a rundown of what I found. First it has the tiniest fleabite on the ax handle which is not real noticeable. It looks to have received a fairly new chip on the back of it's foot which may have happened on the way over from her house to mine. She said, she never noticed it before. It is in the back and will not detract from display value. T is some crazing on the inside and outside bottom of cookie jar, but none found anyw else. I found t to be the start of a hairline crack (does not go all the way through) or maybe a craze line on back of shoulder. T is a factory miss of glaze on the bottom of jar also. The head appears to be in fine shape with no issues that I could find. It looks like t is a letter D stamped in the head. This with it's few faults is still and excellent display piece and a very rare and hard to find piece. I do not know a whole lot about American Bisque pottery so if you have any questions or know any history on this piece please email me! I will also be listing a very old glass rooster for this person read more
