Offered for your consideration is rare pocket knife from Anton Wingen Jr. Anton Wingen's fixed blade knives are widely regarded as some of the finest that Solingen, Germany had to offer. Their folding knives are seldom seen and in their later years only large folding hunter types were offered. Their pocket knives are of exceptional quality and richly exhibit the fine old-world German craftsmanship that have made Solingen knives of this period so highly sought after. This piece was likely made before WWII and be as early as 1930 or so. Anton Wingen Jr. has always been one of my favorite Solingen makers and I have collected their knives for years. Anton Wingen Jr. ceased operations and closed their doors in the early 1990's. However, for nearly 120 years they were one of Solingen's finest makers and produced some knives of incredible quality. In addition to their own knives, Wingen also made knives for other top firms including Kershaw and A.G. Russell. As one would expect from Wingen, this is an exceptionally well-made knife that represents the very finest in Solingen quality. The knife has been lightly used and remains in excellent condition. The blades were beautifully done and both tangs bear the Wingen marks. The knife has no "Germany" mark, so it was likely not made for export to the U.S. market. The blades are full or nearly read more
