VINTAGE FRANKLIN WRITING MACHINE!!!
This Wonderful Writing Machine Is An Authentic Franklin Circa 1891. It Is The Round 3 Row Design And The 7th One Manufactured In This Line. It Sits On A Hardwood Base.On The Front In Gold Cursive Lettering Is Stamped "Franklin" And Just Below The Keys Also In Gold Reads, "The Franklin Typewriter Co. -- Manufacturers, New York, USA -- Patented Dec. 8, 1891 -- Others Pending, With The No. 7 In Bold. Behind The Carraige Is A Picture Of Franklin Along With Some Nice Scrolling. It Is Obviously Well Used, However It Is In Marvelous Condition Considering That It Is Over 100 Years Old. A Good Cleaning, Oiling & Replacement Of Minor Parts i.e. Ribbon, etc. May Very Well Render The Typewriter In Working Order Although I'm Not An Expert And Cannot Guarantee It. Upon Inspection I Find That T Is Reasonable Paint Wear. The Keys Appear To Work But Do Stick Occasionally. The Carraige Moves With Assistance. The Ribbon Is Dried and Broken (original?). The Rubber That Covers The Small Shaft Is Cracked/Dry/Missing.The Base-Has Some Wear As Is Expected And Is Missing One Of The Screws That Secures It To The Typewriter. Also One Of The Screws To Secure The Cover Is Missing. The Cover - Has Dents & Dings As Well As Wear To The Paint And The Handle Is Missing. I Do Not Guarantee The Funtionality Of This Typewriter As It Is Being Sold For Its Historical/Collectable Value Only And Is Sold As Is With No Returns As I Believe That The Photographs And Description Give Proper Detail As To The Actual Condition.
