This item is a Super Rare Vintage Second Cut Stag Robeson Shuredge No. 10 Jimmie Allen Official Outing Knife with Original Matching Leather Fixed Blade Hunting Knife Sheath. Both pieces come to you in excellent minus condition. Minus because 99% full knife blade was very lightly, properly sharpened and blade shows light tarnish. No rust! No pin cracks! No blade wobble! No chips, cracks or breaks in stag scales (handles)! Sheath is minus because one belt loop slot has about a one inch elongated cut in it. No worn or missing stitches! Strong belt loop strap and snap! Jimmie Allen, one of the Flying Aces, was an immensely popular American Folk Art Hero between World War I and World War II (1930's). When Skelly Oil, with its advertising savvy, picked up Jimmie's sponsership, his popularity inspired the creation of a "Jimmie Allen Flying Club", which inspired many great premiums. Among them were pins, patches, wings, emblems and even weekly newspapers and Big Little Books. Among the best of the premiums is this 1930's Robeson Stag Outer's Knife. Overall length of this little beauty measures about 7 1/2" long, blade length is 4" and tang is marked, "ROBESON ShurEdge No.10", while blade is marked, "Jimmie Allen (in pilot / paratrooper wings) Official Outing Knife".
