This Nippon Coralene tankard is truely a rare find! We have been commissioned to sell this item for a living estate in the Buffalo NY area. This piece was brought back from the orient by the owners, mothers, aunt many many years ago. It stands 15 1/2 inches tall and is believed to be Jacobs Ladder floral pattern. This piece has been damaged and repaired. I listed this earlier and said t was no damage, but after questioning the owner, she says that t was a chip in the lip and her husband removed the chip by wet sanding the area and repainted the damage area. As this certainly was not noticed upon my initial inspection, the repair to the untrained eye is very nice. T are no cracks or breaks in it as it appears now. T are some very minor rub marks, but nothing that effects the finish. If you are a collector of Coralene porcelain, this would make a nice addition to your collection. The makers mark on the bottom has been authenticated by reference to the Collectors Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain Fifth Series by Joan F. Van Patten.
