This is a paper mache cat lantern from the 1920's or 30's. It is in excellent condition with age appropriate minor flakes in the paint but with no rips, tears or breaks. Even the paper behind the eyes and mouth which is very often torn is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. This is NOT a repro. Everything on this piece is "good and right" and the patina is correct. The original wire is still attached. Many of these were made in Germany but this one is not marked. It measures 5 inches by 5.75 inches. It is hard to find these especially in this condition as most of them burned up when they were lit! This sinister little cat will make a great addition to any Halloween Collection and a great gift to the Halloween Collector! Payment Payment is due within 3 days of the end of the auction.
