Up for auction is what I believe to be a 1950's Pepsi light up sign. It is housed in a wood frame and stands on four metal legs. The cord appears to be in excellent condition and the display immediately lights up when plugged in. The unit probably uses one or two flourescent bulbs. This neat and rare display looks so 1950's from it's turquoise color paint on the frame to the jet finned style metal legs it stands on. The unit was made. with the wood frame and appears to have not been altered in any way, it still has the three mfg. labels on the bottom of the frame noting the company that made the sign and two union labels. The maker's label is partially gone so I cannot make out the name of the company. This is a two sided light up, one side that states " Be Sociable Serve Pepsi " is in near mint condition with bright vibrant colors. The other side that says " Be Sociable Have A Pepsi " is the same, except as you can see from the picture it has cracks in the surface starting at the top above the letter "c" in Sociable and running to the right on the top and then down through the Pepsi cap to the lower right edge. Even this side when lit looks great. The sign measures 24"x18" from the edges of the frame to the bottom of the legs. The light up is 21 1/2"x12 1/2". The sign will be carefully packeged and shipping will be 30.00 anyw in the continental U.S. This is a very rare soda light up, never seen one of these before so don't miss out on this opportunity. Although most of the cracked surface has both sides coming together flush, the area at the top is not. One side (lower part) is back further then the top so t is an approx. 1/16" gap. This runs from the area above the letter "c" in Sociable down into the first approx. 21/2" of the top of the Pepsi bottle cap. Hope this gives a clearer idea as to the damage.
