You are bidding on a very rare 19th century potato stamped Northeastern Woodlands Indian Basket with colorful stamped decorations all the way around. This is an original Indian made basket from the 1800's. Beside the fact that it has the nice old stamped decoration the basket form itself is very unusual too! The way it flares out at the top is quite unique. It is in very good condition with only a tiny minor break in the top area, but nothing to be concerned about if you can even find it. The decoration is all original too. T appears to be some kind of finish that has been put over the basket, but we believe that to have been done when the basket was made originally to protect it. The way the shrinkage is would lead us to that conclusion. It is a very nice old piece! It measures about 8 ½" x 8 ½" x 5 ½"high. NYS residents add 8.75% for sales tax.
