's one for the book! Or, rather, is one that not even the authors, Horowitz and Mann, had for their book, "Victorian Brass Needlecases." This is a real find. The Avery name is stamped in the case but not the name of the model. I can find no reference to it so it shall remain nameless. It is an interesting design. A pivot latch turns to allow the four wings to open. Each is numbered for the size needle packet that it will hold -- 6, 7, 8 and 9. The packets slip into pockets formed in a glittering fiber center. The brass case is in excellent condition. The hinges are perfect. The fiber center is in fair but certainly usable condition. I have shown two packets in position for illustrative purposes. The case is 2 5/8" by 2 3/4" in the closed position.SHIPPING IS CHARGED AT EXACT COST TO ME. T ARE NO SO-CALLED HANDLING CHARGES. PROPER CORRUGATED BOXES ARE USED. MOST DOMESTIC SHIPMENTS ARE MADE VIA FIRST CLASS MAIL. I ACCEPT VISA AND MASTERCARD AS WELL AS PERSONAL CHECKS DRAWN ON US BANKS. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL. I CAN PROVIDE A SAFE METHOD TO TRANSMIT INFORMATION. PLEASE CLICK ON THE "ME" ICON ABOVE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
