LAYAWAYS AVAILABLE : A very hard to find, 7-piece parlor set from the EARLY Victorian period of 1860-1870. Sets of 3 and 5 pieces are much more common but NOT 7 piece sets from the Gone-With-The-Wind era !!! Made of walnut, this 7-piece set consists of a medallion backed sofa, a gentlemans chair, a ladies chair, and 4 side chairs. This is an actual set, not an acquired set of 7 similiar pieces. Victorian Eastlake sets are much more common , but Civil War era sets in the rococo style are VERY unusual . I have never seen another complete antebellum style set in 15 years of collecting in person. In fact, the only other 7-piece rococo style sets [Civil War era] I have ever seen are the ones manufactured by J.W. Meeks and John Belter and these bring $30,000-60,000 for a set of 7 pieces.[ I have only read about these from high end auction houses but have never seen them in person at an auction either]. At a cost of $450 per piece it would be a good deal for each individual piece, but considering it is a complete set of 7, this price is a fantastic opportunity for the person looking to decorate a parlor in an eye catching, conversation piece style.This is a rare opportunity for anyone wanting a COMPLETE Civil War era set of parlor furniture.This walnut set is transitional in style with rococo lines mixed with renaissance lines.
