We are offering an outstanding and unique 1/4 plate Littlefield, Parsons union case depicting a woman in a long dress seated on a horse with her dog. The case has never been used and has the original label and two original revenue stamps. The depiction is quite 3-dimensional with the woman in high relief. The woman is seated side-saddle on her horse at the intersection w two trails meet in the woods. Her dog and her riding crop lie on the ground next to her. The way her elbow is in her lap and her head is resting on her hand, she looks as if she has been patiently waiting for someone. If we look down the road in the distance, heading towards her on the trail perpendicular to the one she is on, is a faint figure on a horse. She, apparently, had a rendezvous with this rider, and has been waiting quite some time for him to arrive. The same scene is also on the back of the case. Everything about this case is absolutely beautiful! The case is a rich dark brown, and has no chips or cracks. The brass frame and mat are perfect, as is the green velvet pillow. Hinges are tight, and case snaps shut tightly. PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE GREAT COLLECTIBLES.
