Thank you for looking and bidding. We will be putting on a collection of military bayonets, fighting knives, and theater knives in the next few weeks plus some other Case cutlery and miscellaneous knives. Most are in excellent to mint condition and I wouldn't be surprised if some were museum quality pieces. The Knives are of all vintage era. These came from a couple different estates so t is quite a range of knives. Please add me to your favorites as this auction could take up to several months. Thank you. *TANG STAMPS: Obverse side : DIX * LENGTH: Blade 6 5/8", Overall 11 1/8" *PATTERN: Hand made fighting trench knife *CONDITION: Excellent *AGE: World War II *COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA *BLADE WEAR: Blade is full and never sharpened. Shows signs of having had pitting, but nicely and lightly cleaned leaving only a few light pit marks and original finish. Overall, not distracting.(See pictures). Blade is in overall excellent condition. HANDLE: Leather with steel guard, aluminum pommel, and red fiber spacer. Excellent condition. No cracks,dins, or dents. All tight with no movement. All in perfect working order. *SHEATH (SCABBARD): Leather in excellent shape. Although knife fits perfect in sheath it may or may not be original to the sheath as it is an inch longer than it should be. I have yet to see any pictues of this knife with sheaths alike. But, that was not uncommon in those days for a maker to use whatever he had on hand. One thing for sure, it is an old sheath and has housed this knife for many years. You can tell that by lines made on the sheath from the knife. (See Photo). ADDITIONAL INFO: An all around exceptionally nice old hand made for Theater Knife. Nice strong stamps on blade. Finish on this knife is about 98%. Featured in Coles book #4 page 91 and 92. Exact same knife. All original. Will make a fine addition to any military collection.
