German Military Award Documents 1939-1945 by Emilie Caldwell Stewart I wrote and self published this book in 1991, limiting the copies to 1500. I had about 50 remaining until October 2005, when my house was hit by Hurricane Wilma. Aside from losing most of my collection to Wilma's storm surge, I also lost all but a few copies of German Military Award Documents 1939-1945 . Soft cover and large 8.5 x 11 format, my book contains over 300 photos of original documents. Rare 1st and ONLY edition. One of only 1500! Many of the examples were provided by the original German soldiers who received the awards! Each document is fully described and many have the signatures identified. All branches of service, Heer, Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe and Schuetzsssstaffel are included. Award documents included are Iron Cross, German Cross, Cholm Shield, Fighter Clasps, Honor Goblets, Tank Destruction Strips, U-Boot Badges - every possible badge has an award document pictured The back has a separate glossary of common abbreviations found on award documents.I am proud that my book has been deemed by collectors as THE reference on collecting German military award documents for the last 15 years!
