This is a small booklet containing 24 pages with an Amendments to Espionage and Sabotage Acts pamphlet dated May 16,1918. This booklet outlines the duties, purposes, procedures, and behaviors of an American Protective League agent. It gives brief descriptions on: PURPOSE, EVIDENCE, HOW CASES ORIGINATE, THE HANDLING OF CASES, CASES FOR INVESTIGATION, NEUTRALITY CASES, METHODS IN NEUTRALITY CASES, CHARACTER AND LOYALTY CASES, METHODS IN CHARACTER AND LOYALTY CASES, FALSE EXEMPTION CLAIMS, METHODS IN FALSE EXEMPTION CASES, RED CROSS CASES, GENERAL SUGGESTIONS, REPORTS, INFORMATION, THE BULLETIN BOOK, THE NEW SCRAPBOOK, THE DAILY NEWS ALMANAC, REAL ESTATE OWNERSHIP, CREDIT REPORTS, PERSONS ON PAROLE, THE BOOK OF CHICAGOANS, AND COMPLAINTS. It also goes into brief Laws and Proclamations. Finishing with INFORMATION FOR LIEUTENANTS. On the back of the book it reads: This book is the property of The American Protective League and is charged against you, and should you resign from the League, it must be returned. This little booklet contains so much intriguing information it is a most have for any historical collector!
