Offered exclusively on Ebay is this rare original WWI American Protective League ID badge case with original documents: Registration Certificate and Operative Certificate. The certificate Reads: American Protective League Organized with Approval and Operating under Direction of United States Department of Justice Bureau of Investigation Aug 21 1918 No. 7292 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN This is to certify that the bearer whose signature appears on the margin of is a regularly appointed member of the American Protective League, with the rank of Operative. (T are two signatures on this certificate. One I can't make out and the other Is Bernard L. Lichtenstadt.
The Registration Certificate reads: To whom it may concern, Greetings: THESE PRESENTS ATTEST. That in accordance with the proclamation of the President of the United States, and in compliance with the law, (Handwritten signature appears as Bernard L. Lichtenstadt) Handwritten Ft. Wayne. Typed Precinct 10 County of Allen, State of Ind. has submitted himself to registration and has by me been duly registered this 5 day of June, 1917. Hand Signed: John T.
