This is the holster pattern purchased by the US and Canada in 1914 for the famous M1911 Colt semi-automatic pistols acquired that same year. Manufactured by the Mills Equipment Company in the United States, the belt is identified as manufactured by the Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co. of Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. Mills had supplied the Union army, and had a lock on Army gear until the 30's. The holster and belt are in excellent condition. They're free of corrosion, rot, mold or discoloration. These things seem to have been stored in perfect conditions for a century! The belt is 46" long, at its greatest size, and is 2 1/34" wide. The holster is 8 ½" tall from the top of the flap to the brass cap, excluding the hanger. With the hanger and clips, the holster is 12 ½" long. The holster has the original leg strap, which is in like-new condition! These are always missing on most of these old WWI holsters. The holster brass endcap has the Mills imprint and logo. T is a little wear on the brass. This holster was worn.
