Offered is a scarce Roseville Pottery Yellow Ixia Vase. Good mold, colorand glaze. EXCELLENT CONDITION. Most of the best articles produced by Roseville Potterywere made during 1920-1930. Some of the most popular lines produced by Roseville Pottery include Ixia, which was produced in the 30's. Fewer numbers of pieces were made during this time period due to the decreased demand in response to the Depression, tfore making these pottery pieces more rare. Impressed mark indicates that this piece was made prior to 1937 as Roseville went to a raised mark in this year. T is a nearly unnoticeable 1/4 inch rough spot (chip?) on the upper rim and a small area on rim w glaze looks to be rough. We tried to capture these in photos, but they are too minor to show up well in the pictures. Minor flaws and we observe no other chips, cracks, damage, or repair of any kind, although we are not experts.
Bottom is marked by impressed Roseville 859-9 and blue artist's mark. Vase is 9.5" tall and has open handles at the base, which is more unusual. Typical Ixia handles I have researched were closed and pointed. Should be cleaned. Newly acquired from a local estate collection. This is a great, lovely, valuable piece of art pottery that would be a wonderful addition to your collection or as a gift.
