This awesome crystal jam pot and cover are in the "American" pattern by Fostoria, and they're in absolutely perfect condition! Fostoria started making the American pattern in 1915, and it's an extremely popular pattern with collectors! It's getting harder and harder to find some pieces that are in good condition, and this rarely seen jam pot is one of them! It's immaculate - t are no chips, cracks, fleabites or flakes anyw, and the glass is nice and shiny with no stains, scratches, dullness or oxidation! It looks as if it was very rarely if ever used - t aren't even any scuffs or utensil marks to speak of, and every edge and ridge is perfectly smooth! It stands 4 ½ inches high with the cover in place, and it measures 3 inches in diameter across the bottom of the lid. T is no cut-out in the lid for a spoon, and it has an inner rim that fits down snugly inside the pot. The knob is six-sided, and t's a starburst in the bottom of the pot for extra dazzle! It really catches and reflects the light beautifully, and it would be a wonderful addition to any table or collection of vintage Fostoria glass! It's guaranteed to be genuine - not reproduction or new glass! A sampling of the American pattern can be seen photographed in Gene Florence's "Elegalt Glassware of the Depression Era", but t is no photograph of this particular jam pot. It's listed t for $55.00, and this one in the spectacular condition is an exceptional bargain at this low opening bid! The lucky winner will pay shipping plus insurance.
