Here we are delighted to offer you a Very Rare and early Rockingham Porcelan Miniature hand painted Slipper with a trodden down heel it is as and as rare as Hens teeth. With a Magnificent Turquoise all over ground colour and on the top of the tuquoise is a Superb Fresh flower spray that is so well painted . The Slipper has a fine gilded trim. I did telephone The Rotherham Museum they took the trouble to telephone me back and i was was told by them theTurquoise ground Rockingham slipper is Recorded and they have a record of one as being made at the Rockingham factory and was told it is very rare and Rockingham slippers were not markd on the base but on the inside Ours has just small puce mark only is is just a small puce line which you can just see. The Book by D G Rice mentions that they are normaly 4 inches long . Our slipper is only 3 inches long and it is in perfect Condition no cracks or chips and not restored. One picture was taken with flashlight hence the colour change . You will see thousands of Derby and Worcester miniatures as they are common yet still fetch a lot of money . You will never see another Rockingham Miniature slipper that is only 3 inches long with a Turquoise ground colour in your life time. This is another piece of Rockingham from our private collection.
