RAT Hotrod MARSHALL C5 01 V3 CLASS 5 Combo Valve Rectifier Amplifier Power Scaling, barely used from new just over 1yr old,06/08/2012 absolutely mint condition with no marks, comes with a brand new Eminence legend 75w speaker for that ultra clean blues sound with tons of headroom, comes complete with rat 2 way footswitch, Marshall and Rat manuals and Marshall origonal box to protect it, come and try it out 07967829089 serial number c5 black 01 V3 03181 06/08/2011 A RAT Marshall C5 V3 Combo All Valve Guitar Amplifier. The C5 V3 is a 5 Watt Combo Amp from Marshall. It is an All Valve, Class A, Cathode Bias, Single Ended Circuit Design with NO Transistors, Chips, Digital Processing or SMT (Surface Mount Technology). It uses '3 Stage Gain', without a Ton of 'Hiss'. Loads of Clean Headroom and Lots of 'Crunch' and 'Sustain'. On the Test Bench the Stock Amp is Producing 5 Watts RMS and about 8 Watts Peak Power. You have to run the Amp 'Flat-Out' to get the Classic Marshall Sound, then it's too loud for Home Use......RAT 'OPR' Sorts that out. This Amp has Been - 'RAT' Hot-Rodded - Modifications - 1. - RAT 'OPR' - Output Power Reduction /power-scaling RAT 'OPR' Lets you get a true 'Cranked Amp Sound' at Very Low Volume Levels - Fat Harmonics - Sustain a Mile Long - The Full Works, but at a Much Lower Volume. A Rotary Control allows you to Vary the Output Power of the Amp - As you 'Turn Down the Power' - The Volume Drops but the Tone is Maintained. 2. - The Stock Amp does not have a Standby Switch - I replace the Factory Power Switch with a Carling 3 position 'Off/Standby/On' Switch. 3. - Variable Boost Footswitch - Connects to the Rear Panel - Switches the Internal Boost Circuit On-or-Off. The Footswitch is fitted with a Variable Boost 'Level' control (from Zero-to-Max) and gives a HUGE Boost to the MID Frequencies and Harmonics. The Footswitch is Metal construction with a 12 foot lead and 'Red' LED 'On' Indicator. 4. - RAT Tri-Rectifier - /tri-rectifier-and-sag Uses a 3 Position Switch to select 'Silicon' - 'V1 Valve' or 'V2 Valve' Rectifier. The Valve Rectifier is a NOS EI 'EZ80'. 5. - '3x Bias' -and- '3x Gain' Switches /preamp-bias-and-gain This gives you 9 Combinations of 'Voice' settings on the Preamp Valves. From 'Clean' -to- 'Major Crunch' - it makes the Amp a lot more Versatile with a high chance that you can find the sound you want. The 'Bias' Switch - A. - 'Up' Position is 'Sharp and Bright' with Reduced Bass Response - Works Best with 'Humbucker' type Guitar Pickups. B. - Centre Position is 'Clean and Mellow' - OK with Any Guitar Pickups. C. - 'Down' Position is Factory Standard - Works best with 'Single Coil' Type Guitar Pickups. The 'Gain' Switch - A. - 'Up' Position is 'Low' Gain. B. - 'Centre' Position is Factory Standard 'Medium' Gain. C. - 'Down' Position is 'Higher' Gain. 6. - Master Volume Control - Allows Preamp Overdrive -or- Power Amp Overdrive -or- Both. 7. - Modified Tone Stack - The Factory Tone controls do not allow total tone control, they sweep in a 'Preset-Range'. The Modified Treble, Middle and Bass Controls will sweep from 'Zero-to-Max' on each Frequency. 8. - Full Lead Dress - All Transformer and Heater wires in a Valve Amp must be tightly twisted or they will induce 'Noise' into the Amp Circuit. Twisting all of the wires and placing them in the correct location does make this Amp quieter (Background Noise - Buzz-Hum-Hiss). 9. - Series FX Loop - 'Send' and 'Return'. - The 'Send' Socket can also be used as a PREAMP 'Line Out' and the 'Return' Socket can be used for Direct Access to the Valve Power Amp (For External Preamps or Multi-Effects Processors). 10. - New Rear Panel Layout includes - FX Loop (Send/Return) - 1x 16 Ohm Extention Speaker Socket and Main Speaker/Headphone Switch - Headphones (... read more
