RATCHET SCREWDRIVER, DIRIGO, GAY PATENT, EXCELLENTThis is a ratchet screwdriver that has engraved on the handle below the wood "DIRIGO AUGUSTA, MACHINE WORKS, MFRS. AUGUSTA, MAINE U.S.A. PAT. JULY 29, 1902". This patent is by George Gay of Augusta, Maine on July 29, 02 #705917. Mr Gay held several screwdriver patents in the Augusta, Maine area in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They all dealt with various ratchet mechanisms. This screwdriver has a wooden handle and a steel ratchet mechanism and blade. The blade itself is about 7 3/4" long and the overall length of the screwdriver is about 13 3/4".This screwdriver is in great shape, about the best I have ever seen outside of "new in the box". It has received little to no use. Not much else to say, a rare screwdriver in great shape, what more can you ask for.My E-Bay philosophy is simple, you are the customer and you decide how you want to handle the deal. I will go along with most anything as long as it is not too outrageous and you keep me informed. If it will be a few days before you get payment to me, no problem, just let me know so I will not worry about it being lost. I do not have any hard and fast time lines on what happens when. Normally I will get the package to the PO the day after I receive payment. If for some reason that will be delayed, I will let you know. As usual, read more
