1964 Rattan Corner Set Up for your consideration and viewing pleasure is a high quality rattan set that our family bought around 1964 in Melbourne, Florida and moved to Indialantic in 1966 where it went in our den. We spent many hours on this set, reading, watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, Walter Cronkite, Hawaii Five-0, Star Trek, Shock Theater, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, Dark Shadows, etc., etc., etc. It was always so comfortable. The corner and coffee tables have a white Formica top, faux-wood Formica on the sides of the surfaces. The upholstery was replaced probably in the mid-80's with a similar color. The foam is original and is thus aged and should need replacing. The covers are in excellent shape as they are newer. All cushions are zippered with quality metal zippers that are working nicely, easy to operate.
Photos: I have included numerous photos, including the back, the sides, cushion close-ups, underneath, the frame itself, the coffee table and some historical photos. The B&W photo is how it looked brand new, my grandfather visiting, with our cat who knew my grandfather didn't like cats and so parked next to him. That was probably the last time it was exposed to smoke, nobody in our house smoked. Notice the old black rotary phone and the old t.v. to the right. The color photo is before the upholstery was replaced, I'm guessing it was taken in the early 70's. The previous color is comparable, as you can see. My father is ready to part with this set. If I had the room, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Lots of fond memories. This would look great in a Florida room, den, Tiki room. It's very livable. Available for local pickup only.
