by Ray Johnson
in Branson, Missouri
This knife was "baptized" in the field dressing of a black bear in the mountains of New Mexico. Other than that, it's been carried in the mountains a bit, but barely used. An extremely sturdy knife, of the style Ray Johnson is noted for, it was forged about 12 years ago (1996). This isn't anything like the "hand made" knives ground out of factory manufactured damascus. Ray starts with good steel and folds it and hammers it himself. It's a rugged knife quite capable of holding its own against any knife of comparable size or even larger.Blade Length: 9 1/8 Blade Thickness: 5/16 inches Blade Width: 1 5/8 inches Total Length: 13 7/8 inches If the romance and aura of a hand forged, hand folded Damascus blade is something which speaks to you, then 's a knife to last a few lifetimes.
