Assorted 6SJ7 Vacuum Tubes
An auction for 9 6SJ7s. The tubes are: 3 RCA, 2 GE, 1 Westinghouse, 2 Ken-Rad JANs and 1 NOS/NIB Tung-Sol. Others may be NOS, but the Tung-Sol is the only tube that comes in its original box. The test results speak volumes. All 9 tubes are in the 2 photos. Tubes carefully tested for transconductance, shorts, gas, life and leakage. No tube is sold that has any gas, leakage or fails life and strength tests. Photo is of the actual tubes on auction. Test Results: 2100, 1950, 1950, 1600, 2200, 2000, 1900, 2100 and 1500 gm (Hickok 539C) Minimum: 1040 gm (Hickok 539C) Test Equipment: Hickok 539C w/ Fluke 73III multimeter Triplett 3444 Hickok KS-15874-L2 Cardmatic Maxi Matcher w/ Sola CVS Regulated Power Supply The Hickok 539C is a highly regarded transconductance tester. The Triplett 3444 is one of the finest testers ever made. Exceptional in every aspect. Superb with directly heated triodes. The Hickok KS 15874-L2 is a commercial version of the wonderful 118 Cardmatic. In my opinion, and the opinion of many tester experts, this is the best tester that was made by Hickok. A real gem. The Maxi-Matcher is a useful tester for measuring current draw and transconductance at 325/400 plate volts with 5 bias voltage settings. Very good with 6V6s and EL84s, this tester falls a bit short of true operating levels on 6550s, EL34s, 5881s and 7027s. Still much better than most "suitcase" testers for measuring power pentodes. I do not trust the minimums on this tester and they are therefore not listed. The industry standard by default.
