Offered today is this Gorgeous Rca model 56x "Red Dot" Post War 1946 AC / DC / AM Bakelite radio with 6 TUBE CHASSIS!! . Exellent Condition! The cabinet work is beautiful to say the least,over the years there are no nics,hairline cracks,or dings! A very few age related light scratches and one light scrape hardly noticed. The cabinet is very reflective , The finish was hand rubbed using no sealers,coatings,or certainly no automotive wax that over time will cause the cabinet to dull from the chemical residue in the wax. Bringing out the gorgeous luster of the marbled Dark chocolate colored bakelite exhibiting a mirror like Original luster as seen in the photos .The knobs were rough and needed a lacquer clear coat and look great. Beautiful lighted slide rule dial with contrasting white and gold etching. These are seldom found with etching intact or without deep scratching in the glass. There is light pitting in the dial shade very minor. Check the photo showing the gorgeous dial and red dot pionter. The audio from this radio is excellent and plenty of smooth Mids and sharp Hi end from the speaker!! The set features Am and adjustable tone switch. The bottom has part of the factory label. We had to use different hardware for the refabricated rear cover! The back loop support cover is in good condition along with the internal loop antenna. read more
