Up for your consideration is this freshly restored RCA Victor 9-JY 45 rpm record changer. Built during the 42nd week of 1949, this is an attachment unit designed to play through a radio equipped with a phono input. It does not have an amplifier or speaker. This 9-JY has been completely redone and is ready rock and roll. Let's take a look: this unit is in excellent cosmetic condition featuring the original factory finish on the tonearm, turntable, and spindle. The color has deepened over the years into a rich, dark shade of antique gold with only very minor flaws. The tan marbelized vinyl turntable mat is in fine condition as is the bright red spindle cap. The brown bakelite case has no cracks or chips. Everything has been cleaned, polished, and buffed to a glossy shine. Check the pics - classic! The restoration includes new motor mounts, a replacement original style power cord, and a new RCA phono plug. The original style idler has been renewed and is still soft with plenty of grip to ensure accurate speed and dependable record changes. The motor and entire mechanism have been completely disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted for like new performance. The obsolete crystal pickup has been replaced with a new reproduction Sonotone 52T ceramic stereo cartridge bridged for mono playback. This cartridge will allow you to run read more
