RCA Victor Model 8-BT-10K Transistor Seven Portable This is one of those things I just have a hard time passing up so I bought it but now I am remembering that my tools and a space to work have not yet been unpacked and will not soon be usable. So I have to let this go. I think that this is an important radio because it comes from a time when designers still built transistor radios the way that they built tube type radios( a real metal chassis and point to point wiring) look that the pictures of the inside and you will see that the transistors (the little black cans) each have thier own socket just like tubes. The pictures show the worst of the wear on the case, the metal trim has the upper left corner lifted a little. The radio works( it sounds real good) and to prove it I have built a battery pack of AA cells to duplicate the old battery which supplied +6 and +9 volts to the radio but I can't find my soldering iron so the wires are just twisted together. This is an update I found the soldering iron and a socket that fits the plug on the radio so the radio now plugs into the battery pack so when you get it, it will work with out your having to fuss with the battery pack connections I have not tried to tie the battery pack down because I think the new owner would like to make those choices.
