I'm very sorry that this description was missing from the sale info. I just discovered the error. (Feb 3, noon) The very popular, single tube receiver, Aeriola Senior, was introduced in late 1921. By late 1922, it had been updated with a Bakelite panel and mahogany box. Still later, in 1923, the name was changed to Radiola Senior. These single tube, regenerative receivers perform quite well and are easy to operate requiring only a single 1.5vdc dry cell and a 22.5vdc B+ battery, a set of earphones and a suitable antenna and ground. The tube normally used is a WD-11, however an 864 or WE239A will work equally well but will require the use of a socket adapter. This radio, with batteries and headphones listed for $75 in 1922. That $75 inflates to about $1500 in today's dollars....WOW! More info can be found at the following web sites. /20sRadio.html /oldradios/index.shtml /thetropics/2468/wesAerio.html As far as I can tell, this radio is all original. The original directions are tacked (by original Westinghouse tacks) into the lid. T is also an original separate instruction sheet for the RCA WD-11 tube. I have never used it, so I can't say that it is operational. The box is not made of mahogany as the later radios, so I assume this is one of the first made in late 1921 or early 1922. It also has the painted black (to imitate Bakelite)
