Up for sale is a Quality Sterling Presentation Bowl made by " AURUM ".This was produced in 1973 to Commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the RCMP and the march west. This bowl was commissioned from Aurum Designs of London, the Bowl is of solid silver with the frieze and knob gilt with pure gold. The knob on the Bowl's lid is the St. Edward Crown, as used in the early badges of the original North West Mounted Police. Entirely made by craft processes, only 500 Bowls will ever be produced, each one individually numbered on the base as part of a full inscription and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed personally by the head of the Force, Commissioner W.L. Higgitt. Standing 6 1/4 inches high including lid, with a diameter of 7 inches, the Bowl has a capacity of 3 pints (1.7 litres) and contains a minimum quantity of 32 ounces (30 ounces Troy) of silver. Ian Ribbons , The artist , has personally signed each bowl and has written a short account of the March with particular reference to the details contained in the Frieze. This has been produced as an illustrated booklet, a copy of which accompanies each Bowl. On completion each Bowl is submitted to the Assay Office at the Hall of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in Foster Lane London.
