Collect old prints with the Muller provenance and delve into the exotic world of old Japan. How were these prints done? These beautiful woodblock reprints were done exactly as the originals. An artist carved a wood block, one for each color, and hand printed each print one color at a time. These old reprints are sought after for their meticulous attention to detail and color, rivaling the originals. Unlike the brighter, souvenir prints seen on the market these fine reprints show the attention to detail and careful color choices intended to exactly replicate the old originals. Detail of this Print Reading a Love Letter This Very Special Collection of Mica Reprints- Please browse through the beautiful old collection of mica reprints in tonight's auctions. These prints are the highest quality mica reprints ever produced. They were printed in the early Showa era (1920's) and were produced to exacting standards. They beautifully replicate the golden age originals that sell in the tens of thousands of dollars. These ukiyo-e masterworks are virtually unattainable elsew What makes them so special? These prints are beautifully printed with soft colors that were carefully matched to the original natural dye prints. The key block linework is excellent. All have incredible mica backgrounds that have been aged and distressed to perfection to emulate an Edo era original. The papers are fine hand made paper- the quality is immediately apparent. Framed and matted, they would be assumed original by all but a few experts. We guarantee you will not find a higher quality old reprint in the market. These are, most definitely, for the collector with discerning taste. Additionally, these wonderful images are very rarely seen as they were almost never reprinted. All are rare finds in the print market. Comments- Eisen's portrait of this young woman reading a letter from her lover is an exceptional example of his golden age portrait prints. The expression on the young woman gives the viewer a sense of the strong emotion associated with the letter. A beautiful, classic portrait print.
