When the baby starts to cry you simply install on of the key it comes with and hold it then the baby will stop crying. The exact same concept as the Baby think it over. My daughter had this doll and never used it so she is ready to go and be used. She is looking for a mommy to keep her warm. She is a fun toy to play with. She comes with everything in the picture, diapers, all the keys for all the functions she does, and some clothes too. She works perfectly well.
