Real Dinosaur Bone Fossil Edmontosaurus Geologic Time: Late Cretaceous 65 to 68 million years Geologic Formation: Hell Creek Locality: Montana Valued at: $100.00 This is a Dino Lab exhibit quality fossil. The specimen is an example of a 9" humerus fragment from the left front forearm from a hadrosaur (duckbill dinosaur) known as Edmontosaurus annectens from the Hell Creek formation of eastern Montana. These herbivore dinosaurs roamed the Cretaceous North American floodplains by the millions similar to extinct bison herds of the early 1800’s American West. Packs of tyrannosaurs most likely tracked these herds of hadrosaurs much like modern day wolves pick off the old and weak today. They grew to be over 30 feet in length and 4 tons and had over 600 teeth in their mouth for crushing the vegetation consumed. They were so numerous they were a mainstay for the Cretaceous ecosystem. This specimen was meticulously prepared by our staff preparators. This certified Dino Lab specimen would be a great gift for that dinosaur or fossil enthusiast. This is a certified Dino Lab specimen. Dino Lab Fossils - Mission Statement We at Dino Lab Fossils believe first that all fossils should be enjoyed by everyone from public museums to individuals at home. We also strongly believe in the advancement of our science and our total sum of human knowledge about our earth's history. We do not advocate private ownership of fossils that are scientifically significant because lack of access to a fossil impedes the goal of academic and research programs. With that commitment in mind Dino Lab Fossils will not offer scientifically significant fossils to the general public as we feel they should be reserved for purchase by institutions of higher learning such as museums and universities. Our goal is to provide fossil specimens to the public in an ethical and responsible way.
