Geologic Time: Late Cretaceous 68 to 70 million years Geologic Formation: Hell Creek Locality: Montana Valued at: $3,500.00 This is a Dino Lab premium exhibit quality fossil. The specimen is a beautiful example of a subadult Triceratops spp. right dentary (lower jawbone) from the Hell Creek badlands of eastern Montana. It appears to have three bite marks on the outside lower edge of the jaw from a medium sized tyrannosaur. (Note: the image with the yellow arrows) The dentary is nearly two feet in length. This specimen was meticulously prepared by our senior preparator. This fossil was carefully disassembled, cleaned and stabilized with common crack filling compounds. Less than 5% was actually restored. The custom base was hand made out of premium black walnut. The hand made perches are cast of bronze. We do not advocate private ownership of fossils that are scientifically significant because lack of access to a fossil impedes the goal of academic and research programs. With that commitment in mind Dino Lab Fossils will not offer scientifically significant fossils to the general public as we feel they should be reserved for purchase by institutions of higher learning such as museums and universities. Our goal is to provide fossil specimens to the public in a ethical and responsible way. Attention International Bidders: We will only ship to a US address. No exceptions.
