REAL LIFE COMICS NO. 3, published 1941 by Better Publications Inc. The message from the editor on the inside front cover reads: "To help North Americans meet their peril, REAL LIFE COMICS presents the life story of Adolf Hitler, the black tyrant, who constitutes the greatest threat to our civilization since brother fought brother in the Civil War." (This issue was published before Pearl Harbor.) 64 pages, beginning with the 15-page "Adolf Hitler: Emperor of Hate: A Story of International Gangsterism." Continues with other patriotic stories: "Garibaldi: Liberator of Italy" and "Remember the Alamo." Also portraits of real life heroes like Andrew Jackson and Charles Dickens.Front cover colors and inks still bright. Thin strip of offsetting along right-hand margin; tiny chip out of lower right-hand corner. Back cover has minor wear and 2 small triangular chips out along left-hand edge; shallow 1" piece out of bottom edge. Staples holding, no spine splits, binding tight with very slight spine roll. No creases or tears, hardly any signs of handling. Pages clean with slight tanning along edges, colors very bright. Grades between 6.0 and 6.5. Incredible cover art showing Hitler as an evil colossus astride a burning world; smaller images show sinking ships, diving jets, refugees being herded by Nazis with guns, and prisoners in a concentration camp.
