Description: Offered is an original old black and white real photo postcard that features a real giant who stood 7 feet and 9 inches high! The giant in the photograph was Jesse Adams and his name is given on the back of the card.

He is standing decked out in a very fancy braded coat and hat. At his right side a man of normal height is looking up at him. They are both standing in front of what looks like a canvas tent. The tent could have been a circus or carnival sideshow tent?

On the back of the card in pencil is written the folowing:

Mr. Jesse Adams

Height 7 ft 9 in

Weight 247 lbs

Age 19 yrs

The postcard was never mailed and has an AZO type stamp box which dates this card to a period from around 1918 or 1919 to the mid 1920’s eara. The name of the photographer is not given on the card.

The only reference I could fine for Jesse Adams was a notation from a circus magazine known as the Bandwagon: Vol. 32, No. 6 (Nov-Dec), 1988: Jesse Adams, giant boy, p. 33

Size: The card is 5 & 3/8” high by 3 & 3/8” wide.

Condition: The back of the card has soiled over the years and is ash shown in the scan.

On the front t is a black mark to the right of the giant’s hat. It looks like a prior owner blackened over a scratch to the surface of the card. The corners are rounded and not pointed. T is some light wear to the outer edges of the card. Any blotchyness that may be showing on the card, especially on the backside, is the result of the scanning process.

I have made every effort to show the postcard as it actually appears. Please note that depending on the settings of the viewer’s monitor/computer the illustrations with this auction may look darker or lighter then what they actually are.

I am offering this card in is present condition because it is still well worthy of preservation and of a place in any collection.

If you have any questions please ask them before bidding as all my auction sales are final. By bidding on this auction the bidder acknowledges to have read my description and my terms of sale and my terms of shipping.

Thanks for taking a look at this unusual Jesse Adams giant postcard that would make a nice addition to any collection or display.

This is a No Reserve Auction and “the winning bidder gets to take it home”.

Please note all postcards I sell are placed in a new plastic postcard sleeve and mailed in a 6 1/4" by 9" envelope between two pieces of corrugated cardboard for safe mailing and this is the reason that my shipping and handling may look to be higher then other sellers.

In over 10 years of selling on eBay I have never had any reports of postcards being damaged in the mail.
