Up for auction are 6 real photo postcards featuring scenes in and around Downieville California, early 1900s. All 6 cards are postally used, postmarked in Downieville 1907-1910. The earliest card is shown in photo 6 close-up, a panorama of the town under snow c. 1907. Other views include the County Court House, a panorama of the town 1909 (close-up photo 1), the "Mt. House" below Downieville City (photo 2), a view of the old toll bridge, and a view of men hiking in the snow along the river - not sure what the buildings are down the roadway. All of the images have turned to sepia tone in varying degrees, some are a bit light, but overall they show good detail, some unusual views. They appear to have been sent by the same family, with "Uncle Art" Lanier (?) signing several of the cards. Buyer pays $1.85 shipping and handling in the US.
